Episode 2: Unpredictable Prediction
Episode 3: Rage!!!!
I took one of the longest naps in history and I woke up just in time to turn the channel and watch this. I tweeted Malik Yoba and told him that I was going to make it in time to view……SCORE!
Take 2 in 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2……#Alphas
Okay, what in the world did I miss. This guy was having a disagreement with this lady and a cop grabs her and an all-out fight breaks out on the train, ending in a police officer being shot! Double-U, Tee-Eff!!!!
How does Garry walk and look at the electromagnetic signals at the same time? Bwhahahaha… and then he asked Bill for a gun and then a grenade…lol. And then he asked Nina to push Bill to persuade him to shoot the tower. Funny.
Apparently, Rachel’s parents picked out a guy for an arranged marriage and she needs to learn how to be more assertive and tell her parents no. Obviously it didn’t go so well. Yeh, she needs more work.
And Cameron is slamming balls through glass windows in the office because his wife wont be more accommodating to his visitation schedule with his son. Shame. People…if the man wants to be there, let your feelings go and let the man take care of his son. He doesn’t want you…..and I’m going to stop preaching right there.

Episode 2: Unpredictable Prediction
I went to an event and then raced home with literally 2 minutes to spare. Yes, I was going to watch this show in real-time tonight! I hope that you had a chance to watch it too.
Take 2 in 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2……#Alphas
Okay, so… there is this random dude in the back of an ambulance. Apparently, thanks to the intro of the show…. I am guessing that he is an Alpha who has abused his power. So he looks at a pole, the oxygen tanks, and even the cars riding behind the ambulance. Why? SNAP!!!!!! WOW! Dude just calculated EVERYTHING about his transportation surroundings. He caused a crash by flicking a quarter that was tucked in his mouth, it hit the pole, which hit the cabinet and dropped oxygen tanks on the EMS guy and started a trickle of events which led to a crash. OH SNAP! Then he got out and dialed 911…lol. Read More

Episode 1: Cause and Effect
Okay, so…. I heard rumor that there was going to be a show starring Malik Yoba on SyFy. Part of me was curious, simply because I am a Looooooooooooooong time fan of Malik’s, while the other of me was so not into science fiction. Then, I sat and I watched it just because… and low and behold…. I had been lying to myself. The cool kid in me had me brain washed into believing that I didn’t like sci-fy….Double U…Tee..H.
I had watched 4400, read Olivia E Butler’s Kindred, and stalked Twilight on On-Demand like there was no tomorrow. I am a nerd in disguise. I had to be real with myself. Alphas reminded me that I really am a sci-fy junkie in denial. And episode 1 had been my rehab…go figure….lol.
Take 2 in 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2……#Alphas
I had a competition to win on Monday ( did I mention that I won?) and so my DVR was set for Basketball Wives and Single Ladies. I must admit that I even forgot that Alphas was coming on. But… great old Hulu flashed across my computer screen while I was at work and the curious Georgia in me clicked on it to watch. Glad I did.
Now, as I write this review, this is my second time writing it so I am sure there are things I did not catch the first time through…..which will make it all the more fun.
So it starts off with Cameron Hicks (Warren Christie) gets a call on the cell phone while stocking items in a grocery store. After that it just becomes a better version of Legion, almost like how the old lady said “the baby’s going to die” out of nowhere. BAM! I didn’t even notice the “ghost” guy buying groceries the first time around. ….clever. But I couldn’t help myself from laughing at the Jamaican man on the street who tells him to “pull the trigger”. It just reminded me of Dormtainment’s Leaning Leon….bullet! hahahaha . But something appears to be wrong. Cameron almost appears to be in a haze or under a spell…yet knows where to get on this rooftop and shoot a high-powered weapon. AWESOME START!!!!
So Dr. Rosen (David Strathairn) is swimming in his pull when some guy, named Don, shows up. Who is Don, anyway? Dr. Rosen says that the plant “Asian pennywort” increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain. I wonder if that is true… I might go around sucking on grass…lol.
I want to be like Nina when I grow up!!! Nina Theroux (Laura Mennell) obviously has some kind of “ mind control” ability (hyper induction) because she just got this police officer to eat her ticket…and the carbon copy…CLASSIC GENIUS! Hahahahaha. I love this show already and I am only 5 minutes in on my second viewing. And thanks to the motorcycle cop… I know that this is somewhere in New Jersey.
*Mouth falls open, tongue on the floor* Malik Yoba without his shirt just turned me into Homer Simpson in front of Dunkin Donuts…..*drools then wipes mouth* I am trying to remain lady-like….but he can get it. Lol. Oh yeh, the character. Bill Harken (Malik Yoba) has an amazing wife who seems to help him remember a ton of things…lol. I wonder if she knows that he has “abilities”. And he must be in the FBI because his wife is wearing an FBI shirt. Is she an FBI agent too? So apparently there is a hearing and he has been off the job for a while but will get back on it. But the way that he just he used his enhanced strength to move this truck from blocking his driveway is HILARIOUS!!!
Rachel Pirzad (Azita Ghanizada) apparently lives with her parents and they own a cleaners. So apparently her parents know her condition, Synesthesia. She has the ability to make one of her senses more powerful than the others…but it cam render her defenseless at times.
Gary Bell (Ryan Cartwright) is one of my favorite characters, which is weird because I actually like them all and this is only the first episode. A strong statement and I mean it. #teamGary. Gary is a transducer and can pick up on any signal and wavelength known to man. If it is electronic…he can sense it. Cool! He’s quirky and even though I feel guilty laughing he is a comic relief at times, especially his obsession with wanting to drive…lol. Like… how did I miss the whole “whatever, Bill” and “I have a bad attitude” scene the first time through? I think I missed a bunch. Guess I will be watching this a third time…lol.
So, now that we have all of the characters in check… the plot. Apparently some dude that they are calling “The Ghost” , an OCD rogue Alpha, is able to touch people with his creepy hand and convince people to do anything that he wants them to do. He touched Cameron and made him kill some dude via the assault riffle by shooting off the roof and managing to do so through an air vent a few miles away. The guy was shot in the forehead in an interrogation room. RANDOM!!! You mean to tell me that we can’t duck from an Alpha miles away! SCARY!!! Well, the Alphas check it out, hunt Cameron down and make him aware of his Alpha abilities. In the meantime The Ghost gets another puppet who winds up killing himself by drinking bleach at the instruction of The Ghost’s powers.
The Ghost figures out that he is being discovered, then stalks the Alphas and plans to kill Dr. Rosen because of his interference in the Red Flag’s activities. Who/what is Red Flag? I wonder if it was The Ghost or this second “puppet” that was hired who took pictures of them on the roof as they solved the mystery to how the guy was shot in the interrogation room. The funniest like of ALL TIMES was when Bill Harken said, “You forgot the part about the bird that farted in New Jersey” when Rachel is describing the results of her sensory investigation. Hahahahaha. They said she can read a New York Times from 10 miles away. Niiiiice.
The Ghost manages to trick the Alphas by switching outfits with the bell hop and he manages to touch Bill Harken and convinced him that he will be the one killing Dr. Rosen since he can get the closest. But in the middle of the assassination plot Nina jumps in and kisses Bill Harken to break his line of vision to Dr. Rosen…can we say JEALOUS! Dr. Rosen then runs over and stabs him with an injection needle which. Breaks him of The Ghost’s spell. In the meantime, Cameron is in the parking lot trying to save Rachel who has been kidnapped by The Ghost. With a stroke of fate and an Alpha ability, Cameron shoots a nearby sign and the bullet ricocheted and hits The Ghost in the back, thus saving Rachel. But before dying, The Ghost informs Cameron that he is on the wrong side of “this”. I’m guess he means his working with the Alphas is going against the Red Flag’s agenda. And if you were wondering where Gary was during all of this….he was safely in the car (without keys) practicing his 10 and 2 o’clock. Classic.
I simply LOVED this show. I guess the only question that I had was… how long have they been working together. I ask because the scene with Gary putting his lunch in the fridge where he spoke as if this was his first time doing so. Also, Rachel acted as if this was her first time putting up with Bill’s messy and inconsiderate behavior. Oh, and how Nina offered to give Rachel some shoes. Other than that…. I didn’t have a problem with the show. I WILL be watching this on Monday. This is better than anything else that I have to blog about.

In P90X Journey on 16 November 2010 at 10:02 am

So, after a week of sickness I have to get back in the frame of mind that got me through an entire month of P90X in the first place.
Yesterday (Sunday, Day 28) I took some pics and compared them to my starting pics and my side view shows the most improvements. My stomach wasnt sticking out as far….or at least that is what I thought. I showed them to a few friends and I guess by their response they could tell that I had been working out. I still wont post the pics because I still look similar to them. Call it vanity, but I will probably post the pics once the program is over or I am far along in the program that I dont look like the bigger end of the scale…lol.
I mean, I am proud of the work that I have done and the body that is shaping, but the body is still shaping. What I am not proud of is the trail that got me to need to have before and after pics. SO yeh…. I will VOW to post all pics as soon as I reach 180lbs. Deal? Deal? I will do that because I will be closer to my goal weight. And I know that it will take more than the 90 Days of P90X to get to 180lbs, but I am okay with that. I have seen changes:
Day 1: 232lbs
Day 28: 224lbs
Day1: 43in waist
Day 28: 40in waist
Day 1: 47 in hips
Day 28: 45.5in hips
My Goal for the next 30 days is to REALISTICALLY get down to 214lbs. I honestly want to get down to 200lbs in these next 30 days, but I already know that Thanksgiving & my cruise fall dead smack in the middle of that fantasy ride. So, if I can loose another 8-10lbs I will be on the ball! I also want to stick closer to the diet than I did this first month. I also know that I still hate Yoga but I will do it the way that I am supposed to do it these next 30 days as well as Ab Ripper X. I also noticed that I need to stick with my pedometer too ( got a new one but I keep resetting it with my fat roll..lol). I also need to try to workout in the morning at LEAST 3x a week. I also want to go to the gym or outside and hit the treadmill for at least an hour for at LEAST 3x a week. I mean, I am still paying for a gym membership… I might as well use it. I also need to take the stairs at work EVERY DAY!!! No excuses, I need to take those stairs. So, now that I have it in my head what I want to achieve this month, I really need to stick to it. I think that I can accomplish my realistic goal and possibly my idealistic goal if I stick to these minor changes.
I will keep a tab on each blog this month to see if I stick to it. It will look like this:
Drank a Pitcher of Water?
Close to the Diet today?
Completed Yoga in 1 day?
Completed Ab Ripper X?
Pedometer Steps: x/10,000
Worked out this Morning? X/3wk
Treadmill or Walk/run: x/3wk
Took the stairs at work?
So starting today, yes… I took the stairs this morning when I came into work. And I am wearing my Pedometer but it is giving me trouble. But I will get this next month on and Poppin’! Okay… enough of my foreword. I am sleepy and wanting to go home and crash. I will probably take a nap and then workout. I have to get back into the swing of things after being off last week. I’m ready to move ahead and keep losing weight. 8lbs is 8lbs that I no longer have and I vow to never pick back up. Let’s go!
WORKOUT
Ummmm the workout? It didnt happen. I was so tired when I got home that I was in bed by 9:30. I just couldn’t do it, I need 8 hours of sleep when doing these workouts. I also realized that I always hate Mondays and never have enough energy…ever!!!! So, I decided that Mondays would be my rest day for the next 30 days. It made perfect sense to me.
I also went to the grocery store and bought food for the next week for me to cook. I only went over my budget by $1.07. I was actually proud of myself. I am going to do healthy burritos. I also thin that I had 5330 steps yesterday. I think I had more but this pedometer has sensitive reset buttons, so that is just a ball park estimate. Okay….to bed!
Sincerely,
~*My Mother’s Daughter*~

NOTICE: If you read this.. LEAVE A NOTE DANGIT!!! W/ your rude behind!
Yes….another blog entry about weight… get over it.
So, one of my personal assistants, Andrew, and I have had long and drawn out text messages over the issue of weight. I hate to admit it…. but he brings forth some very good points….at very few times (lol). Yet, on some of his other points I need to know why he thinks that way because its hard for me to see a guy with amazing abs and body (did I mention his eyes?) hold a legit, equally balanced, and unbiased conversation about a person’s plight for being overweight. lol. [Wait, I hope that doesn’t constitute as sexual harassment since he is technically my employee…lol. Oh, hell, he’ll get over it. lol. ]Maybe that is a bias that I need to change within myself; the fact that you don’t have to be overweight to know where we’re coming from. Well, long story longer than the shorter version but shorter than the longest version….in response to my blog “Yes, I’m Fat… Thanks for Noticing” he made a good point that reminded me of an idea that I’ve had for years; Why are plus size people looked at as weak? Shouldnt we be viewed as the stronger persons in society for walking daily with our issues on our shoulders? Shouldnt we be the sought after ones for surviving through all of the ridicule?
If you havent read the other blog entry… CLICK HERE and read it to catch up, you slacker.
In the aforementioned blog I made the mention of how other people can hide their weaknesses and personal habits but that plus size people wear their issues on the exterior. We may eat in secret, or swallow pain and resentment covered in mango curry sauce…but everyone can still visually see our issues. Shouldnt the outward appearance of our issues be enough to say, “Here I am world. You know my problems now what are yours?” It would be like Intervention’s version of “You show me yours & I’ll show you mine.” Fear Factor for the dysfunctionally senile in denial! Those who are willing to walk to the closet of their issues and drape them with a beautiful umpire waisted belt and walk into the world the very same way that we do every day. See, walking to the closet every day , for the plus size woman who has accepted her plight and is not in denial, is more like preparing for a final exam or your thesis statement (just got another blog idea). What will this outfit say about me as it wraps itself around my already pronounced issues? I mean, there are tons of things that go through our mind as we get dressed, but in the end we walk out of the house with our heads raised high….some of us… and we face the world.
How ironic is it that the world would make the people who carry the most weight the physically weakest? Shouldnt my carrying these extra 70 pounds make me stronger? Well, yes, technically it does…just not in the same physical manner as the gym buffs without necks. We become emotionally stronger and self-sufficient in our lives. Many of us have the very things wrapped up in our post-Christmas dinner wrappings that several other people look for but aren’t willing to unwrap.
Picture this: (And this is not Skinny Chick Bashing but this is blunt Anti-Skinny Chick…lol.. I use to be one, so I can speak on it) A guy sees a fine, thin woman from across the room. He loves the way her curves appear, her assets are ripe for the picking and her womb is playing peek-a-boo behind a nicely Golds Gym ripped set of abs. This is what he loves. Now, as soon as she gets a little thicker, the birthing hips have now given birth to stretch marks and indent lines from the too tight panties she has suction cupped to her butt in hopes that this physical change will soon go away, he (not all but some) will no longer find her attractive. Phrases like, “Baby you’ve changed”, “You’re not the same woman I met” or “You’ve let yourself go” find their way into their relationship. Was he there for the woman’s personality or was he there for her looks? Because a woman will stay there when she is in love and watch his waist grown and learn to love that there is more of him.
Picture this #2: You have the hoodrat with the big booty, 2.5 kids or 5 abortions deep…which ever will make this more disgusting for you, living at home with her mama striving to be a model who SOMEHOW manages to get the business man who one would THINK had enough common sense to know that he needs a woman who is more on his level. Standing from my previous skinny chick position, even I would say that he was in it for the booty and he’d never marry her in his right mind. Some would say why would any woman want him in the first place? It is not necessarily that we would want him… we want his eyes to be opened to what he could have and is missing out on all for the love of booty. (Sounds like another VH1 Reality Show, right?) You have beautiful plus size women who would make sure that the home was taken care of, the man was head of household, a companion in both business and personal decisions who are intelligent beyond their years being passed up on a daily basis just because a guy can’t see himself with a full-figured woman. He is passing up the very qualities that a man is supposed to findth in a wife….not wifey…but a wife. See, something is not right with either of these pictures….. these scenarios are in need of a new photographer.
I say this, fellas…. in a plus size woman, if you look at the qualities that she has: is she intelligent, is she mentally stable, she doesn’t have 7 different baby daddies, does she have goals in life, etc…then you will begin to see what we see. Instead of worrying what your size 4 girlfriend is going to look like in 7 years…you’ll already know what we look like when we gain weight…lol. The surprise will be what will we look like should we ever decide to lose the weight for ourselves, but the surprise will never be that you have possibly gained a beautiful woman who is created from your dreams and crafted to suit your needs as she conquers her own world as well.
I understand that everyone has a preference that they are entitled to pursue, if you truly arent attracted, then you are exempt. I’m here to speak to the brothers that creep behind closed doors with the plus size sisters but wont take her out in public for one reason or another (all of the reasons may not be weight….but I see y’all taking the crazy as hell skinny chicks out in public while she shows out). You like who you like, and you don’t like who you don’t like, but I want guys to stop treating plus size women like the white girlfriend cooking bacon for a black muslim; a taboo. We exists, we are sexy, and we go through a lot just to fight to be treated less than equal. We run businesses, we dress to the nines, and we love life just like any other person because we are human as well……we just want to be treated as humans. We can put it on our husbands, whip up a meal and push out some gorgeous children too…all while being the true trophy on your arm. People will see our size, but they will also see the courage that it took for you to tell them all to fall face forward with their mouth opened wide on to the lap of the status quo and commence to Super Heading.
Super Heading- (verb) created by 2Deep on Sept 7th. Intended to suggest the actions perfected by Karrin Stefans aka Super Head. Filacio.
Fellas, can you imagine being a trendsetter?! Joining the brotherhood of the thousands of men who stopped being so friggin self-centered and shallow and finally found a woman who would have his back… who also happened to be plus size? Every size woman has her issues….but you’ll never know until you try. Stop asking if there are any real good women out there if you are only looking at 12 percent of the female population, whether it be size, skin tone, creed, or length of weave. There are some very attractive women out there who could be exactly what you are looking for…..the problem is that you’re not looking in her direction. She wears majority of her issues on her exterior…so if for no other reason to date her…. you know what you are getting into. You know that she managed to walk through the day exposed and may need a hug from you. But deep down she is still strong, not a victim, and not to be judged…she is human. At least treat her as such, and if all you see is a plus size woman who is unattractive, lazy, and not worth your time because she’s let herself go…think this….”at least she’s skinny standing next to your mama!” LMBO!!! (Thanks KaNikki!)
Sincerely,
Mother’s Daughter
