Poem 1: Safety Net
Poem 2: You
So, for those who are in the dark, April is National Poetry Month. As a poet, I participate in the tradition of writing a poem a day for thirty days. Some will be Haikus, some will be mega short, and some will be epic.
You

Poem 2
You are the thought before my conscience tells me that I know better.
The before thought in the moment I decide to protect myself.
The last drop of water on a deserted island.
You are the giving before I receive….
and yet I still feel wrong in my wanting.
The security behind my insecure thoughts.
Praise before my condemning..
.and I don’t mind setting myself up for hurt.
There is love there,
Not enough to make me feel better…
But enough to give me hope and smile on the past.
Sincerely,
2Deep
