I’m a few days behind in posting this but I am learning priorities…. and sleep is starting to become a priority. I love you all and I thank you so very much for reading. But I cant be as obsessed with blogging as I have become. I am falling asleep during the day…..I have to take care of me first. I will try my hardest to keep up with these, but be patient with me in the meantime. Thanks.
Take 2 in 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, #SYTYCD ?
Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Neil Patrick Harris ( from How I Met Your Mother) are the judges for the night.
Caitlynn, Jess, Clarice, Marko, Jordan, Mitchell, Melanie, Ricky, Sasha, and Tadd….are yout top 10 contestants. So, who will be going home tonight?
WOW!!!! Cat’s webbed dress is cute!!! I am not a fan of her hair with this amazing dress though… but we cant win them all. lol.
The opening number was set to Smokey Joe’s Cafe: The Songs of Leiber & Stoller (Original Broadway Cast)’s Act One: On Broadway. As a person who has her Masters degree in Theatre…. I am LOVING IT!!!! The girls look AMAZING!!! The costume choice is apporpriate, seductive and yet playfully mature. Niiiiiiiice (Fabolous voice). Yikes! The guys’ costumes look somewhat comical with these shiny gold pants….lol. But of course, Jess is right at home. AMAZING opening number!!! Josh Bergasse did a wonderful job with that opening number. *Adds him to my favorite choreographer lists*
I told you, I voted for Sasha, Melanie and Marko. I dont care who else gets to stay tonight as long as they do.
The first group is Melanie, Tadd, & Mitchell: Melanie & Pasha: w/ Jason Gilkinson designed a piece to Tina Arena Everybody Hurts. And her solo routine did NOT disappoint. Tadd & Comfort (Season 4) : Chuck Maldonado choreographed a seemingly steamy Hip Hop routine to Chris Brown Featuring Bust Rhymes’ Look At Me Now. But performed better in his solo to Robin Thicke’s Everything I Cant Have. Mitchell & Melodie (Season 1) Tyce Diorio’s Broadway piece to the tune of All That Jazz’s ( Soundtrack ) Take Off With Us & danced solo to John Legend’s This Time. I hate to say it… but this one should be a no brainer. Mitchell was the first to be placed in the bottom 4. OH SNAP!!!! Both Tadd and Melanie are safe!!!
The second is Marko, Clarice, and Sasha. Again…. this should be a NO BRAINER!!! But I hate that Marko and Sasha are int he same batch. Marko & Chelsie High Tower (Season 4):Jason Gilkinson choreographed a wonderful routine Kate Hudson’s Cinema Italiano (The Ron Fair Remix. And Marko danced a solo piece to Gavin DeGraw’s More Than Anyone. Clarice & Robert: Nakul dev Mahajan choreographed this amazing Bollywood routine and her solo was to Crookers featuring Roison Murphy’s Royalty . Sasha & tWitch (Season 4): Christopher Scott ( LXD) choreographed this routine to Dorothy Moore’s Misty Blue after she hit the floor with her solo routine to Duffy’s Syrup and Honey. YES!!!! Marko is SAFE!!!!! And if I have anything to do with it… Sasha better be too! LIKE DUH!!! Sasha is safe!!!!
Next week there will be a new batch of All-Stars that the dancers will get to dance with, and they are: Ivan (Season 2), Jaime (Season 3), Anya and Pasha ( Season 3), Lauren G. (Season 3), Neil (Season 3), Ade (Season 5), and Lauren F. (Season 7 Winner).
The final group is Jordan, Caitlynn, Jess, and Ricky: Jordan & Brandon (Season 5) : Contemporary piece choreographed by Dwight Rhoden & Desmond Richardson to Jessi J’s Who You Are and a solo routine to Lykke Li’s Tonight.Caitlynn & Pasha (Season 3): Their routine is choreographed by Leonardo Barrionuevo and Miriam Larici to Orquesta Color Tango’s Malanita , followed by a solo piece to Florence + The Machine’s Cosmic Love. Jess & Catheryn : Stacy Tookey’s Contemporary piece about not being able to see what is right in front of you. Christina Perri’s The Lonely and a not so inspiring solo routine to Harry Connick Jr’s Come by Me. Ricky & Allison ( Season 2). Tyce Diorio’s dream was put to Tori Amos Precious Things. The solo was supported by Cassidy Haley’s Daylight Breaks. Ricky will be joinging Mitchell and Clarice in the bottom 4. Jess is safe and will return next week. Jordan is in the bottom 4 and Caitlynn is safe.
A soloist from the American Ballet Theater, Daniel Simkin performs to Jacques Brel’s Les Bourgeois. I LOVE Jacques Brel! I performed in Jacques Brel isAlive and Well adn Living in Paris in undergrad. Great times. The guy looks a little nerdy. But he cauht my attention with is facials. His moves weret that impressive to me until the song picked upand then I got is energy and loved it. He told a story that I was unable to inetepret via the language of the song. He brought it to life for me and I aprpeciate that.
The winner of Season 8 will becaoem Gatorade G-Series spokes persons along with All-Stars tWitch and Lauren….amazing!
Dance for Your Life:
Mitchell: The Cinematic Orchestra Time & Space. I always think that Mitchell is the best person who understands what it means to dance for your life. I think that some of his BEST performances are when he is performing a solo. And I am not just sayin that because he looks GREAT in his simple dance shorts…lol. The boy really is talented. He brings the real emotions that I wish he would bring in his partnership.
Clarice: Ida Coor vs Feddie Le Grand’s Let Me Think About It. Wow the leg ectension with the side drop was amazing. Her costume is amazing. I do, however, feel as if the routine was a tad bit simple and it wasnt a DANCE FOR YOUR LIFE piece. But… I’m not a judge.
Ricky: Distrcit 76’s Battle for the Beat. I loved this piece for him. I do, however believe that his costume messed with my visual. The piece performed a LOT in such a small time. This will be har to tell if he or Mitchell will stay. Fingers crossed.
Jordan: Sticking true to form, Jordan performs to Lykke Li’s Tonight. She looks amazing, as usual. Her routine wouldnt have been her without a leg extension. I fel tthe emotion in this piece. Again, some of her strongest performances are when she is not being sexy. She has a vulnerable side that I loves.
Blush and Snoop Dogg hit the stage. I have to admit that I have NEVER heard of them… but I uess that there is a first time for everything. And I love the Snoop Dogg head phone advertisement plaed in the intro. Now, the girls outfits look amazing. One of the girls looks out of place. She looks like one of the first Destiny Child members that we could replace and not miss…lol. The dancers behing them are too busy ad they are pitchy. And the camera guy keeps catching this one girl. Snoop coming to rap in the middle of this seems so out of place. But okay…..someone will like it. I am not a fan.
The judes are unanimous in their decision tonight. Mitchell and Clarice were asked to step forward, and they were sent home tonight. Jordan and Ricky were asked to stay.
