TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT!!! Remember, the couples have been broken apart and the All-Stars are coming back to grace the stage. I AM SO CISED!!!! So… put on your best Capezios and let’s get the party started!
Take 2 in 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, #SYTYCD ?
Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Neil Patrick Harris ( from How I Met Your Mother) are the judges for the night.
Caitlynn, Jess, Clarice, Marko, Jordan, Mitchell, Melanie, Ricky, Sasha, and Tadd….are yout top 10 contestants. This is going to be interesting. I mean, at least all of the guys and girls are hot! lol.
I LOVE Cat’s dress…. I love it , love it, love it!it adds some curves to her…cute.
Marko & Chelsie High Tower (Season 4):Jason Gilkinson choreographed a wonderful routine. It’s a story of a photographer who finds this girl and wants to take her picture all of the time. Doing the Samba to Kate Hudson’s Cinema Italiano (The Ron Fair Remix). I love the costume… and I want to immediately smile, but Marko should be dancing with Melanie. Okay, so they got this beautiful lift at the beginning. I mean, it is fun to watch but I don’t think that it is the same magic that was there with Melanie. I mean, Marko’s technique is still there… but I don’t feel the same. Like I think that this kiss that they just had was forced and to get a draw from the crowd. And the idea of the photographer was lost until the very end. But the routine was good…not great, but good. Neil said that it was such a “dirty way to start the show” and that he is the guy to beat. Mary said that Marko is the real deal and that he does everything because he is so versatile. Nigel said that he has lost a really good partner but he hasn’t lost any of his chemistry and appeal.
Sasha hit the floor with Duffy’s Syrup and Honey for the first solo routine of the evening. I mean, this is Sasha at her best, I think that she took to heart what they said last week about her dancing for her life and she put it to work. Although, I think that she stayed on the ground too long. I dont think she played well with levels, but I loved the piece. If you wish to vote for her you can call 1-888-TEMP-01 (1-888-836-7601 ) or TEXT 1 to 83676 . Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Jordan & Brandon (Season 5) : Contemporary piece choreographed by Dwight Rhoden & Desmond Richardson. It is about love and the things you go through while in love. This dance is like a “run-on” sentence. And the choreographers make the routine to sounds and not to counts. I understand because that is how I choreograph. Jessi J’s Who You Are. I mean, of course Brandon looks amazing. This song fits their body “emotion” so well. I love the arm movements. I love the split lift!!!! And when they are about but not in unison speaks to the song in the sense that everyone is allowed to be “who you are”. I love Jessie J’s voice… I have never heard of her but I will purchase this after this show goes off. Amazing! I love how they introduce you to new artist. Now….. that end split at the conclusion of the routine was ummm…revealing. Yeh, glad the camera panned out from her crotch…lol. Almost had a Super Bowl moment. Mary mentioned just how talented she was and how the dance played to all of her strengths and that she is fighting to stay in this competition.Nigel said that ” he doesn’t want to disagree with Mary, but it isn’t that they played to your strengths, but it is that you don’t have a weakness and they were allowed to do what they wanted. ” He also said that America needs to wake up and keep her in the competition. Neil said that the routine took his breath away. He was also looking at the way that Jordan felt the routine and that it was choreographed perfectly for her.
Jess: Harry Connick Jr’s Come by me.Umm.. I don’t think that the outfit he had on really caught my attention. I mean, it made me look like he just got out of school and was breaking out into a Disney musical. And I think that the music went off too soon before he got a chance to really dance and show us what he could do… but that is my opinion. I love the way that he slid and play. If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-02 (1-888-836-7602 ) or TEXT 2 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Tadd & Comfort (Season 4) : Chuck Maldonado choreographed a seemingly steamy Hip Hop routine to Chris Brown Featuring Bust Rhymes’ Look At Me Now. Comfort was instructed to be “gutter Sexy”….wait!!! Did Tadd say that Comfort would go rabid after looking at his stomach? Look AT me now. It started of slow. I mean, they are doing these moves but the energy is not there for me. And I LOVE this song so for it not to be thumping in their movements is really hurting me. I mean, they are playing to the rhythm of the music but not to the words until TOO late into the song. If it were me, I would have sliced the song to start with Busta…but that it my opinion. I love Comfort’s costume… but I didn’t LOVE the routine. I bopped to the song, but that was it. And you know I absolutely LOVE Season 4…so it hurts me to say that. Nigel said that it was very fast and it was like listening to Mary Murphy talking. He also pointed out that Tadd is a B-boy but he picked it up. Ummmm.. I disagree. Nigel even said that he thinks that he out-danced your All-Star. Neil said that it’s true, he out-Hip Hopped Comfort. He even mentioned how he dances in an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother. Mary said that he hit this out of the ball park. Okay, people, are we watching the same show? I mean, it was good…but like Mary said, he had swagg-ER but he didn’t have swag-GA. See how that -ER vs -GA keeps making a difference when it comes to slang? hahahahah.
Melanie WOW!! She hit the floor to I mean the forwad, no-nad, tuck and roll was amazing! I she did this pop-out almost split and then completed down into a split… amazing! If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-03 (1-888-836-7603 ) or TEXT 3 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Mitchell & Melodie (Season 1) Tyce Diorio’s Broadway piece is supposedly about a plane. Mitchell & Melodie are the stuck up people in the First Class of the airplane. As All That Jazz’s ( Soundtrack ) Take Off With Us blared out of the speakers, You see them in this amazing pose but then immediately it goes down south from there. I mean, I hate having a prop and then not using it, i.e. the hat that Melodie had on her head for all of 5 seconds. I don’t know if it is the song or what… But it is not catching my attention. No, it’s the sweat stains under Mitchell’s armpits…lol. Sorry. I mean…ummm. This looks like Broadway 101. Yes, Melodie looks hot…but ummmm. Okay, maybe I am sleepy but I don’t see it. Hmmmm… Let’s hear what the judges say. Neil…..”I didn’t get that much at all. From the package I didn’t get the airplane theme. It all seemed very disjointed and not very thought out, as a piece. I think that the edit in the middle of the music didn’t work for me. That was not my favorite.” Mary said that the number was over baked, especially in the face. Nigel in dealing with this style, the Fosse-esque, you’ve got to thing about style than the performance. You’ve got to feel the dance.
Ricky’s solo routine was done to Cassidy Haley’s Daylight Breaks. Okay, everyone is on the floor a lot this evening for solos. I mean, his pirouettes are amazing. I am not really sensing any story or emotion from this dance…. but I loved it. If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-04 (1-888-836-7604) or TEXT 4 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
So next week some producer is coming to judge them as well as Lady GaGa. Niiiiiiiice.
Clarice’s solo was to Crookers featuring Roison Murphy’s Royalty . Okay, I actually agree with this outfit. I think that this is the first time that I have all season…lol. I’m stuck on how I feel about it though. If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-06 (1-888-836-7605 ) or TEXT 5 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Caitlynn & Pasha (Season 3): There routine is choreographed by Leonardo Barrionuevo and Miriam Larici. It looks like a 1930s black and white film and is about a couple who has been disconnected. The audience is meant to feel like they are spying in on them. Orquesta Color Tango’s Malanita . The costumes are AMAZING!!! I mean, yes, i do feel as if I am spying in on them. The camera is helping with that. Which I don’t relay think is all that fair. I mean, we should et to see the same angle that the judges and the audience are seeing because the camera wasnt all up in Comfort’s business. I think that the camera angles are bias and help persuade America’s decision. The piece was amazing though. …. but when is Pasha NOT amazing!!! It was just phenomenal. Mary said…while giving them a standing O. It was the first Argentine Tango of the season and it was worth the wait. Tonight she looked like a real woman out there and Mary thought that she just took her dancing to another level. Nigel said that tonight she was a woman and far sexier than anything that she has ever done in this season. Miriam and Anya are the two people before tonight who she thought was amazing doing this and now Nigel will add Caitlynn. Neil said that it started off too slow for him and then he zoned in. But after a while it looked like theatre and that Caitlynn keyed in to Pasha’s swagger.
Mitchell: John Legend’s This Time. I mean, whenever Mitchell dances his solos he ALWAYS evokes emotion.I just wish that he could bring foth the same intention when he has to rely on another person. He is a phenomenal dancer… I’ll never take that away from him. If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-06 (1-888-836-7606 ) or TEXT 6 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Sasha & tWitch (Season 4): Christopher Scott ( LXD) choreographed this routine which is about a couple whose relationship has burnt out and they are going to reignite the flame. tWitch is hilarious. Dancing to Dorothy Moore’s Misty Blue they set the stage for an emotion that you have NEVER seen before in your life!!!!. I love the way that they pieced in Sasha’s hair extensions. I mean… WOW!! The Run, bounce off the knee and straddle that Sasha did while tWitch was on the floor… AMAZING!!! And the ticking while the jacket was coming off….EXCELENT> I mean this is some sexy Hip Hop!!! I LOVE IT!!! This is the sexiest and most feminine that I have seen Sasha all season. I mean she is always stong… but Christopher Scott OUT DID HIMSELF ON THIS ONE!!! I am giving a STANDING O IN MY OWN HOUSE!! tWitch said.. “That’s better than breakfast right there.”….lmao!! Okay, those who are close to me know that I am semi-bias in this decision…but Sasha put some Stank on that…AND I AM VOTING FOR HER!!!!!! Nigel said that Last year Twitch came through and did a memorable routine with Alex WOng and this is a memorable routine here tonight. He can’t wait for Ellen Degeneres to come and redo this routine. We all know how much Ellen loves tWitch. Neil said that this was the best routine of the ENTIRE evening. I AGREE!!! Neil said that she and tWitch were in sync with one another. Neil suggests that they dance every dance together. Mary says she needs to call the sherriff, the fire department (to put out the smoke because that was just smoking hot, and the paramedic because Mary is about to have a heart attack. And as much as Mary LOVES tWitch, she LOVED Sasha doing that piece and she is an All-Star tonight. Yes….this gets saved to my DVR tonight for life! I LOOK UP AND I HAVE NOT PRESSED RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was too caught up and didn’t press record. Oh, if I didnt have to finish blogging I would hit myself in the face! *Presses record* I don’t even want to record the rest of the show now…..this is some BULL! So mad at myself.
Side Note: Okay, so I searched on Youtube, and this maynot be the best quality but at least you can see what we saw.
Jordan :Lykke Li’s Tonight. The opening was very powerful and it broke away from her usual sexy routines. it was soft yet powerful and showed a technical side of vulnerability. PRICELESS!!! This is my favorite of hers to date. If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-07 (1-888-836-76087) or TEXT 7 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Jess & Catheryn : Stacy Tookey’s Contemporary piece about not being able to see what is right in front of you. Christina Perri’s The Lonely. I love how they don’t look at each other during this routine. I m looking to se if his lifts have improves. Hmmm… Nope… I was afraid on the lift and turn. Hmm.. But he is trying and I applaud him for that. I just love the emotion that they both are bringing though. Nice piece of art. Neil thinks that was an extraordinary designed performance, but he feels that sometimes Jess’ face is a little muggy. He reminds Jess to be as present and as sincere as possible. Mary said that this is her most favorite piece of the season. Nigel said that just Jess’ luck he gets more lifts than Joan Rivers’ face…lol. HILARIOUS!
Tadd: Robin Thicke’s Everything I Cant Have.Nice…. I mean, it was him in his element. And like I said… It was everyone on the floor. Okay, didnt Tadd hang off the edge of the stage last week too? If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-08 (1-888-836-7608 ) or TEXT 8 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Melanie & Pasha: w/ Jason Gilkinson this guy has lost his will to live and this girl is nurturing him through this experience. This reminds me of the jilted wedding dance that Melanie and Marko did earlier in the season but this is set to Tina Arena Everybody Hurts. I mean, Melanie looks beautiful as usual. I am too busy watching to critique. I don’t know if that is good or bad. They have me pulled in and I am watching it. I mean, there isn’t anything difficult about it. Unfortunately… I am not getting the point of the storyline in their movement, but I am loving the choices and the emotion of hop that is somehow coming from them. Yup… Pasha can get it…lol. Mary was jealous that Melanie got to dance with Pasha. And it was as if Melanie was floating across the stage. And she thinks that Mel is right at the top of the leaderboard. Nigel said that it certainly was a masterclass of lifts and Movement. The beauty of the Viennese Waltz and Melanie was an absolutely brilliant dancer. Neil didn’t feel like there was a lift because it was so effortlessly wonderful. Neil said that Melanie looks like she’ form the past but she dances like she’s from the future and Melanie is easily her favorite dancer on the show.
Caitlynn: FLorence + The Machine Cosmic Love.I mean the energy of the song is there. And then I see this outfit and it reminds me that it was HER outfit that I never liekd…and it just keeps coming…lol. Her technique is ever in question. she chose a wonderful song and she rocked it.If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-09 (1-888-836-7609 ) or TEXT 9 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Ricky & Allison ( Season 2). This dance is about a Bad dream….right up Tyce Diorio’s alley. This dream is supposed to be so real and I know they will do well. Tori Amos Precious Things. AMAZING! I wonder what it is that Ricky wong up whispering in Allison’s ear. I am not getting the whole nights mare part of the dance, but the technical aspects are phenomenal!!! I mean, I wish I could dance to this routine. There union parts are chilling…. love it. The ending I got the nightmare part…and the face that Ricky had… freaky. I loved it!. Nigel loves it when Tyce is free like this and not stuck to the format of broadway. Ricky did a job well done. Neil was pretty impressed because week to week he seems to dance young. But Tyce took a bold choice and Neil said he responded very well. Mary said this was deliciously dark and she thought that Ricky really brought it tonight.
Marko: Gavin DeGraw’s More Than Anyone. I mean, the emotion that Marko is pulling is almost making me cry. Why was it sooooo short. Dance some more!! Dance some MORE!!!!If you wish to vote for them you can call 1-888-TEMP-010 (1-888-836-7610 ) or TEXT 10 to 83676.Or vote online at www.fox.com/dance
Clarice & Robert: Nakul dev Mahajan choreographed this amazing Bollywood routine. This is a basic dance who are playing this game of cat and mouse. Robert says that Clarice is real hot. Bollywood…yes!!!! Whatever the I mean, they look phenomenal together. The chemistry between the two are there and the technique is definitely there. I am loving the quirkiness of the piece and that they are all on unison. There is an amazing sex appeal of this peace that you would expect and they KISSED!!!! I love it! I mean, before the kiss.. but they kept p with the tempo and teach other the entire time. Neil loved it. And tonight he felt that he finally connected with Clarice after the kiss. Mary said this was exhilarating to watch. She thought this was designed like a well-fitted Chanel suit. Nigel said that this was like a hand fitting into a glove and fit Clarice very well.
There was some technical difficulties so Cat had to have everyone walk back out on the stage so that she could manually call out the numbers. I hope that this doesn’t cause trouble with the voting. THIS is when people should not be sent home…every time they have a technical issue…lol. I have already voted and I voted for Sasha, Melanie & Marko. WHo are you voting for?
